Never reveal your name. Never turn your back. Never surrender your heart.
Val Kilmer plays suave espionage hero Simon Templar--aka The Saint--and Elisabeth Shue costars in this atmospheric mix of bold adventure and grand romance. An array of sophisticated gadgetry is at Templar's command as he plunges into a cloak-and-dagger netherworld of move and countermove. Cool, too, is Templar's knack for coming up with the right disguise at the right time. Now you see him. Now you don't...or do you? Each close-call escape is a breathless miracle--and no one knows miracles better than a saint.

a saintly movie - 4 out of 5 (6/18/2001)
The 1997 version of THE SAINT is a James Bond wannabe. You can tell from
every inch of the film, that the producers were looking beyond the first
film to the franchise that a successful film would make. The problem was
that the film wasn't successful and it was only medium level good.
The fact that it was a James Bond clone was another bit of a puzzle because
Leslie Charteris created the character of Simon Templar in 1926. He wrote
almost two-dozen novels of the character before his dea

In The Saint, Val Kilmer plays espionage hero Simon Templar as he tries to outsmart the man who is paying him millions to deliver the plans for a new form of energy creation, cold fusion. Kilmer is excellent

My name is "The Saint" - 4 out of 5 (11/12/1998)
It's a great movie that has brought back memories, but not as
action-packed and exciting as i would anticipate. It's more fill-up
with romance. On the other hand, it has spectacular on site locations
for filming like the Red Square in Moscow (It actually brings back memories
for me when i was there before). It's really a "BIG" feeling.
On top of that, i guess paramount still has to work on more features on their
DVD movie releases. Anyway it's improving with trrailers and audio commentar
